Angie's Tutoring: FAQ & Rates

Emphasizing Common Core State Standards

What are the rates?
$99 for New-Student Special of 4 one-hour lessons or 2 two-hour lessons
• Other rates depend on the number of lessons paid in advance, ranging from $30 to $50. Lower rates may be available in cases of financial need.

What curriculum is used?
Angie uses the Common Core State Standards as the guide for choosing K-8 activities, practice, and assessment. She uses hands-on and problem-solving activities to help develop concepts. For high school students, she either uses their classroom textbook, selected questions from SAT/ACT preparation materials, or study guides published by the College Board and other companies. Angie has a large collection of curriculum materials for students.

How are students assessed?
Students in K-8 are given frequent short quizzes on Common Core State Standards. Questions that students miss in one lesson are reviewed in future lessons until the student masters the concept. New questions are chosen based on topics being studied at school and/or weaknesses noted from previous assessments.

What is the tutoring location?
Angie tutors in her studio in the northern part of Oakwood, just south of Dayton, Ohio, near the University of Dayton. On-street parking is available. The tutoring room is set up as a small classroom.
